Hire remote developers who work on European time.
ScratLabs gives European teams senior developers without the agency layers: we work your business hours, build GDPR-aware, quote a fixed price up front and hand over every line of code. AI does the heavy lifting, so the price stays closer to a freelancer than an agency.
What makes remote hiring work.
Remote hiring rarely fails on code. It fails on hours, data, ownership and communication β so we handle all four by default.
Your working hours
We work European business hours, so calls happen in your day and feedback you send in the morning is picked up the same day β not after an overnight gap.
GDPR-aware from day one
Production data stays on EU-hosted infrastructure when your users are in the EU. We build and test against sample data, so real personal data rarely needs to leave your control.
You own everything
All code and intellectual property are assigned to you on payment β repository, documentation and credentials included. No lock-in, no strings attached.
A direct line to the developer
No account managers or ticket queues. You talk to the engineer who writes your code, in English, and see a working build every week.
Hire for a sprint, a product, or every month.
Pick the engagement that matches the work. Every option starts with a fixed, written scope β no hourly surprises.
A focused task
A landing page, a feature or a small tool β delivered in days, at a fixed price.
from β¬500 fixed price
A full product or MVP
A remote developer who takes your product from scope to launch, shipping something you can try every week.
from β¬4,500 per project
A monthly remote developer
A set number of developer days each month for your roadmap, with priority turnaround. Pause anytime.
from β¬1,500 per month
Remote developer, in-house hire or agency?
An honest look at the three usual ways European teams get software built.
| Criteria | ScratLabs | In-house hire | Traditional agency |
|---|---|---|---|
| Time to start | After one call and a written quote | Months of recruiting and notice periods | Weeks of sales calls and onboarding |
| Commitment | Per project or monthly β pause anytime | Employment contract, payroll and benefits | Often minimum budgets and retainers |
| Cost | Freelance rates, fixed quotes | Salary plus employer costs | Agency rates plus overhead |
| Who you talk to | The developer building it | Your employee β you manage them | An account manager |
| Code & IP | Assigned to you on payment | Owned by your company | Depends on the contract |
| AI in delivery | Core to how we build | Up to the individual | Bolted on, if at all |
From first call to first commit.

Before you hire a remote developer.
The questions European teams usually ask first.
Where are your developers based?
Our team is based in Da Nang, Vietnam, and works European business hours for European clients. That's how we keep senior-level work at freelance rates β without making you wait overnight for answers.
Can we hire a developer outside the EU and stay GDPR-compliant?
In most projects, yes β because we rarely need to touch personal data at all. GDPR governs how personal data is processed, not where your developer sits. Production data stays on EU-hosted infrastructure, we develop against sample data, and where access to real personal data is genuinely needed, we put the right data processing agreement in place first.
Who owns the code you write?
You do. All code and intellectual property are assigned to you on payment, and you get the repository, documentation and credentials at handover. There's no lock-in: you can continue with us, with an in-house team, or with anyone else.
Can we hire a remote developer monthly instead of per project?
Yes. The Partner plan gives you a set number of developer days each month, from β¬1,500 per month, for roadmap work, new features and maintenance. You can pause it anytime.
How quickly can a developer start?
We reply within a day, the scoping call takes 15β30 minutes, and the written proposal includes a concrete start date β so you know exactly when work begins before you commit.
How do we communicate day to day?
Directly with the developer building your product, in English β over chat, email or a short call, whichever suits your team. You see a working build every week, so progress is never a mystery.
Letβs talk about your project.
